Ingredients
Raw Rice Rawa - 1 cup
Water - 2 cups
Green gram dhal - One handful
Green Chillie - 1
Oil - 8 - 9 tsp
Salt
Seasoning
Red Chilli, Mustard, Urad Dhal, Jeera, Asafotedia, Curry Leaves
- In a heavy bottom vessel, add oil and season with the specified ingredients and green chillie.
- Add in the rice rawa and fry them well in low flame. Be cautious that the rawa is not burnt.
- In an another vessel pour water, add dhal and salt and boil it.
- When the water boils remove from fire and add in the fried rawa and mix well without forming lumps.
- Pressure cook the mix till four whistles.
- Mix well and add oil if needed.
- You can serve with pickle or Ginger onion chutney.
- Rice rawa can be done by grinding the raw rice in a mixie to rawa consitency. In case of large quantities you can get it done in flour mill.
- You can also relish this upma with rasam and curd.
Delicious tiffin... love it with some onion chutney...
