Chickpeas and Potato Kurma

Ingredients
Chickpeas – 1 cup
Potato – 100 gms.
Chilli powder - 1 tsp
Dhania powder – 1 tsp
Chopped coriander leaves – 1 tsp
Onions - 3
Salt, Oil
For masala
 Coconut – 1 – cup
 Small Onion – 10 Nos. – In a kadai fry this using ½ spoon oil.
 Jeera – ½ spoon
 Pepper – 5 Nos.
 Cinnamon – 1 stick
 Cloves – 2 Nos.
 Sombu – ½ spoon
 Poppy seeds – 1 spoon
 Tomato – 1 or 2
Method:
1. Soak chickpeas for 8 hours.
2. Grind all the masala ingredients. (Don’t make very fine paste)
3. Add potato, salt and soaked chickpeas and pressure cook.
4. Add three spoons of oil, season with mustard seeds, curry leaves, and chopped onions. Fry for few seconds.
5. Add cooked chickpeas and potato with water, sambar powder or chilli powder and dhaniya powder. Allow it to boil for 5 mintues.
6. Then add ground masala. Check for spiciness and salt.
7. Boil another 10 mintues. Add coriander leaves at the end.
8. Now Chickpeas & potato Kurma is ready to eat with rice. It goes with rotis and parathas also
