Ingredients
Nylon Sago /Sabudaana – 1 cup
Dehusked Green Gram Dhal – 2 or 3 handful
Grated Coconut – 2 handful
Mustard
Jeera
Urad Dhal
Red Chillies - 1
Green Chillies – 1 or 2
Salt
Water – 1 cup
Procedure
Nylon Sago /Sabudaana – 1 cup
Dehusked Green Gram Dhal – 2 or 3 handful
Grated Coconut – 2 handful
Mustard
Jeera
Urad Dhal
Red Chillies - 1
Green Chillies – 1 or 2
Salt
Water – 1 cup
Procedure
- Soak sago in water overnight. Next day, water will be absorbed.
- Cook dhal and drain water. (Do not overcook)
- In a kadai, heat oil season with mustard, urad dhal, red chillies and jeera.
- Fry cut green chillies.
- Add soaked sago, cooked dhal and mix well.
- Add salt and coconut.
- Mix well and keep stirring in between for few minutes. Add little more oil if required.
- All ingredients should mix properly and upmma should not be sticky.
- Remove from fire. Serve hot with pickle.
