Gongura Pulusu

All You Need Is!!

Gongura - 1 bunch ( Sorrel leaves in English. Pulicha Keerai in Tamil.)
Bengal Gram - 2 handful
Onion - 2 medium sized
Garlic - Few pods
Turmeric- 1/4 tsp
Chilli powder - 1 tsp
Green Chillies - 3 or 4
Tamarind - Very Little
Salt

  1. Chop greens, onions and green chillies.
  2. To this add rest of all ingredients and pressure cook them with enough water.
  3. Mix well and boil them again with little asafotedia.
  4. Season with mustard, jeera and red chillies with liitle oil and pour over it.
( This is neither liquid nor very thick. Slightly watery than the regular dhal)

You can also add one brinjal or tomato to this before pressure cooking..

Tastes yummy with soft white dosas.. Good For plain rice too....
