Coconut Powder


Coconut  - 1/2 grated
Bengal Gram Dhal - One handfull
Cumin Seeds - 1 tsp
Red Chillies - 4 or 5

  • Fry dhal, cumin seeds and red chillies with little oil.
  • Add salt and powder the fried ones
  • Then add in the grated coconut and grind to fine powder
  • In a heavy bottom kadai, add little oil, season with mustard, jeera and curry leaves. Add the powder and fry well till it leaves good aroma and moisture is left.
  • Store in air tight containers.
  • Can serve for plain hot rice.........

Since coconut is used it has a shorter shelf life.... Make a quick use of it.
