Rice Rawa Upma

Raw Rice Rawa - 1 cup
Water - 2 cups
Green gram dhal - One handful
Green Chillie - 1
Oil - 8 - 9 tsp
Red Chilli, Mustard, Urad Dhal, Jeera, Asafotedia, Curry Leaves
  1. In a heavy bottom vessel, add oil and season with the specified ingredients and green chillie.
  2. Add in the rice rawa and fry them well in low flame. Be cautious that the rawa is not burnt.
  3. In an another vessel pour water, add dhal and salt and boil it.
  4. When the water boils remove from fire and add in the fried rawa and mix well without forming lumps.
  5. Pressure cook the mix till four whistles.
  6. Mix well and add oil if needed.
  7. You can serve with pickle or Ginger onion chutney.
  • Rice rawa can be done by grinding the raw rice in a mixie to rawa consitency. In case of large quantities you can get it done in flour mill.
  • You can also relish this upma with rasam and curd.
